Basic ways how to plan a Salvia Divinorum herb. Salvia can either be grown from a seed, or from cuttings taken from a healthy plant.These are tips to grow the salvia herb successful.
These are things you need; Seeds of Salvia plant, then a pot to plant the seed. You can buy seeds from a supplier or from online order. As possible buy a hanging pot in able to best result since this plant needed air and water from top to bottom. Or at least make sure to water it daily.
Once you have the right pot, soon you start planting the seeds. Make sure you will put the plant in a place free from breaking or being knocked off as the seeds are so sensitive and very small. The seeds usually start to germinate within about 2 to 4 weeks if they are viable.
You can also grow salvia divinorum from cuttings. To plant it this way, make a cut just below the node on the plant, with clean, sharp shears. The cuttings grow best when they are between two and eight inches in length. Place the cuttings in individual glasses, with about one and a half cups of water in each of them. Keep them seperate and they will grow better. In about two to three weeks, you should see them begin to grow roots, and at this point you can plant them in soil as already described.
Always keep the soil watered as the plants needs more water to survive. But don’t let the soil well saturated. Just enough not to become soggy. Keep the plant on the soil until the roots become strong to sub side the wind. You should plant at least 6 to 12 plants at one time so more chances to have growing plants.
Also advisable that you try the 2 methods of planting Salvia. So you will see the advantages and disadvantages of each method or which is more easy or suitable to type of environment you have. So in the future you can continue to follow the method is much applicable for you.
You should begin fertilization about four weeks after the new plant has been placed in soil. For plants that you started from a seed, you can begin fertilization when they grow to about two inches in height. While the plants should be strong enough to sustain themselves without fertilizer, using it will only help the results.
When the plants reach the right height and size you have to place it on where its roots can grow more. Make sure you have to place it in shaded area but it will be also needed to sunlight at least less than 4 hours per day.
Using different soil and using some strategic planting will help you determine the best planting method to use. That will have your own salvia garden.
